Corrections & Removal
VERSION 1 · UPDATED 2026-07-04
An archive is only as good as its willingness to be corrected. This page is the standing policy for fixing, claiming and removing records.
CORRECTIONS — ANYONE
Email info@asterleybros.com with subject “ATLAS CORRECTION”: the page, the fact, and a source if you have one. Corrections are graded like everything else (a producer-official or regulatory source beats a forum post), applied by a human moderator, and logged — every profile keeps an auditable change history. Target turnaround: five working days.
CLAIMS — PRODUCERS
Producers (or their authorised representatives) can claim their record: claiming unlocks the producer-notes zone, bottle imagery and direct correction rights. It is free, and always will be. A structured claim flow with email verification is shipping shortly; until then, claims run by email with domain and role checks.
REMOVAL — THE REVERT-TO-FACTS MODEL
If a verified producer asks to step back from the Atlas, we de-enrich rather than pretend the producer does not exist — an archive that silently deletes real producers stops being an archive. On a verified request we will:
- · remove editorial summaries, community layers, imagery and any producer-supplied content;
- · reduce the record to neutral public facts (name, location, existence, products) with their public sources;
- · mark the record delisted so it stops appearing in features.
Where the law requires more — personal data of private individuals, court orders, demonstrable harm — we remove more, up to and including the full record.
PERSONAL DATA
If a profile names you personally (as founder or distiller) from public sources and you would rather it did not, say so — for private individuals we default to removal without argument.
Policy v1, published 2026-07-04, ahead of the claim flow and producer outreach so the rules exist before anyone is asked to trust them.
